Which schools are using Khan Academy?

Khan Academy is used in over 15,000 classrooms worldwide. This is an estimate based on the number of coaches we see who have a cohort of 10+ students.

In addition, we are working closely with a group of public, charter and independent schools. Most of these schools are located in the San Francisco Bay Area so that our school implementations team can work closely with them.

Los Altos is one of our closest partners and our largest implementation with over 40 classrooms. Their district-wide roll out is pioneering how blended learning can be used at a large scale in a public school district.

We are also working with other public schools, such as the Mountain View public school district.

On the charter school side, we are working with Summit Preparatory School at their newest campus in San Jose. Their campus in Redwood City was featured in the film Waiting for Superman. We are also working with Oakland Unity, a charter school serving East Oakland, and the KIPP charter network. At KIPP we are working closely with two of their schools, one in San Jose and the other in Oakland.

We are also working with some unique independent schools. One of our independent pilot schools is Hope Technology School where 40% of the students have special needs. Another is Eastside College Preparatory School in East Palo Alto, a school that provides full scholarships to its student body, which is made up entirely of students who would be first in their families to attend college.
